Operations engineer

A Data Center Operations Engineer is the front-line responder who monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots a facility's critical infrastructure. While the Operations Manager handles budgets and personnel, the Engineer works directly on the floor executing preventative maintenance, reacting to automated alarms, and ensuring that power and cooling systems remain online. They are the technical backbone of daily, hands-on facility uptime. Experience & Requirements Education: Technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC systems, or equivalent military background (e.g., Navy Nuclear program). Experience: Typically requires 2 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in a critical environment (Data Centers, semiconductor facilities, hospitals, or marine engineering). Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of critical infrastructure components including generators, UPS systems, chillers, CRAH units, and fire suppression systems. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in variable noise environments, lift heavy equipment, and participate in a 24/7/365 shift rotation (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
