The Humanities instructorworks in the General Studies department, which forms the first year of atwo-year diploma. The primary role of the Humanities Instructor is to deliver the Humanitiescurriculum to military students in accordance with all policies and processesat the QTI. The role involves teaching and supporting the creation,maintenance, and delivery of Humanities subjects, including Qatar History, Human Rights, and Islamic Culture, to specific standards within the General Studies department. The ideal candidate will have the ability to plan and implement engaginglessons based on Mo EHE curriculum. They will create an inclusive learningenvironment that supports student success while maintaining academic rigor andadherence to institutional standards. The ideal candidate will demonstratestrong communication skills, a commitment to student-centered learning, and theability to inspire interest and achievement in the different subjects within Humanities. The role involves engaging in regular feedback meetings with Senior Instructors in support of continuous improvement of the instructor’s classesand the department as a whole. Taking ownership of their classes and leading byexample, the instructor must demonstrate professionalism and flexibility. Theinstructor must also demonstrate a commitment to continuous professionaldevelopment and continuous improvement initiatives within the QTI. The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility andadaptability in responding to changing priorities, student needs, andorganisational requirements. They will work collaboratively with colleagues andmilitary stakeholders to support student achievement and departmentalobjectives, fostering positive and productive working relationships across theorganisation. The instructor will be agile to meet evolving educational andorganizational requirements, embracing change and maintaining a proactiveapproach to ensure the continued success of students, the department, and the QTI. Key Aspects of the role: Deliver high-quality Humanities instruction in accordance with QTIpolicies, procedures, and curriculum requirements. Support military students in achieving academic success and developing knowledgeof Qatar History, Human Rights, and Islamic Culture. Contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance, and continuousimprovement initiatives within the General Studies department. Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centred learning environmentthat promotes engagement, critical thinking,and respect for Qatari values and traditions. Work collaboratively with colleagues and military stakeholders to supportstudent achievement and departmental objectives. Maintain accurate records and meet all reporting, administrative, andperformance management requirements. Training Delivery Teach Humanities subjects withinthe General Studies programme. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaginglessons that meet curriculum requirements and address diverse student needs. Apply effective classroommanagement strategies and maintain a positive learning environment. Provide academic and pastoralsupport to students throughout their learning journey. 2. Student Progress Assess student learning usingformative and summative assessment methods. Provide timely and constructiveoral and written feedback. Monitor, record, and report studentprogress, attendance, and behaviour in accordance with QTI requirements. 3. Curriculum Development and Quality Improvement Contribute to the development,review, and enhancement of curriculum materials and teaching resources. Participate in lesson observations,feedback processes, and professional development activities. Support departmental continuousimprovement initiatives and share best practice with colleagues. 4. Administrationand Professional Responsibilities Maintain accurate student andadministrative records within required timescales. Use approved teaching andadministrative technologies effectively. Provide teaching cover whenrequired. Follow established communicationand reporting procedures. Engage fully with QTI performancemanagement processes and professional standards. Maintain a professional classroomenvironment. 5. Health, Safety and Environment (SHE) Comply with all QTI health, safety,and environmental policies and procedures. Complete all mandatory SHE trainingand demonstrate safe working practices. Promote a safe, disciplined, andprofessional learning environment within classrooms and training facilities. Build and maintain positiveprofessional relationships with military personnel. Operate professionally andrespectfully within the military training environment. Requirements Qualification/Trade Knowledge: Holds qualified teacherstatus or a relevant education and training qualification (e.g. PGCE, B. Ed., M. Ed., MA, BA, Diploma, or equivalent) in a Humanities subject or a relatedfield. Relevant experienceteaching Humanities subjects to international students in a range of contexts. Knowledge andexperience teaching Qatar History, Human Rights, Islamic Culture,or Social Studies. Demonstrable softskills across a multi-disciplinary department. Ability to use a rangeof teaching and administrative technologies. Strong classroommanagement, communication, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to culturalsensitivity, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Experience within amilitary setting. Teaching experience inthe Middle East. Arabic language. In addition to the primary teaching specialism, Instructors may be required to support the delivery, development, assessment,verification, and administration of other subject areas, programmes, ortraining activities within the organisation as directed by the Customer, Line Manager, Head of Department, or Head of the Organisation. Such responsibilitieswill be allocated based on the Instructors/Lecturers qualifications,professional experience, industry background, demonstrated competence, andprevious teaching or training experience.
