Finishing carpenter

Role Overview

A Carpenter serving Hilton brands is responsible for working on behalf of guests and collaborating with other team members to maintain and repair carpentry work throughout the property.

Responsibilities

Typical duties include:

Repairs furniture and fittings per supervisor instructions.

Fabricates shelves, benches, doors, frames, picture hangings, stages, etc.

Prepares and polishes furniture to an acceptable standard.

Operates machine tools such as saws, routers, planers while strictly adhering to safety instructions.

Responds quickly to guest complaints, ensuring courteous and professional service at all times.

Assists with fire brigade duties when assigned.

Maintains cleanliness of the carpentry shop and all work areas.

Keeps tools clean, secure, and ready for use.

Completes the personal daily job record, time book accurately, and keeps it ready for inspection.

Ensures a high standard of workmanship.

Performs any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned and may be required to multitask.

Works independently or without close supervision and within established timeframes.

Qualifications

Knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance.

Trade qualification as a Carpenter (proof of qualification may be required).

Positive attitude and good communication skills.

Committed to delivering a high level of customer service.

Excellent grooming standards.

Flexibility to respond to a range of work situations.

Ability to work under pressure.

Strong teamwork and leadership qualities.
