Senior structural engineer

We are currently searching for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Qatar. The individual must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years experience and hold an Engineering degree, BEng or MEng. Site based Senior Structural Engineer on a large Middle Eastern construction project. Part of a team responsible for acting as Guardian of the Design Intent on a project designed by Buro Happold engineers in the UK. Responsible for responding to design related questions raised by the Supervision Consultants and the Project Management Team. Key Responsibilities Being the Senior Structural Engineer on the project and reporting to BH Project Director. Advise BH Project Director of any technical aspects of the Structural works that may affect construction progress, quality and the like. Respond to Requests for Information raised by the contractor in relation to the information issued for construction and ensure that information from the design engineers is incorporated. Review Contractor’s Structural shop drawings, method statements and material submittals against the contract drawings for compliance where issues associated with the design intent are being questioned. Undertake general project site observation / inspection of the Structural works for Contractor’s adherence to the design intent in drawings and specification, good working practices, the construction schedule and health & safety. Provide advice to the BH Project Director in regard to any Structural services related variation costs that may be claimed by the Contractor during the course of the works. Qualifications Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer. Minimum requirement of HND level education. Minimum 5 years experience. Ideally bachelor's degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters degree in Engineering (MEng). Significant relevant experience on site, ideally on large scale projects in the Middle East.
