Responsibilities Our newest opportunity is for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join our award-winning team based in Doha, Qatar . This position will be responsible for providing quantity surveying and commercial support for road and infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on Ashghal (RPD) projects. The role involves implementing cost control procedures, managing contractual matters, assessing variations and claims, and evaluating contractor payment applications to ensure effective financial and contractual management throughout the project lifecycle. We envisage success in this role to include: Implementing commercial and contractual procedures within a multidisciplinary project team. Maintaining effective communication with contractors, clients, and site representatives on all project-related commercial matters. Ensuring compliance with contract conditions and managing supplemental agreements. Implementing cost control and financial management procedures in accordance with construction contracts. Assessing and reporting on variations to construction works and evaluating contractors’ claims for additional costs or changes. Reviewing and evaluating contractors’ monthly interim payment applications and identifying potential commercial or contractual concerns. Measuring and verifying quantities of work executed on site and from drawings, including the use of electronic measurement systems. Analysing project variations, preparing commercial reports, and recommending budget adjustments where required. Identifying project risks, assessing their potential commercial impact, and escalating issues to the Commercial Manager. Interpreting contract conditions and applying relevant standard methods of measurement. Supporting effective commercial management and ensuring the successful financial delivery of projects. Qualifications To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include: A minimum of 10 years of overall professional experience, including at least 7 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor on road and infrastructure projects. Demonstrable experience working on Ashghal (RPD) road projects is highly preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, commercial management, cost control, variations, claims, and interim payment assessments. Proficiency in measurement of works from drawings and site records, including electronic measurement systems. A sound understanding of standard methods of measurement and contract administration. Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and coordination skills. Qatar MMUP/UPDA engineering registration is preferred but not mandatory.
